DAY 7 – THE FIFTH CORD
My choice for the letter F was Luigi Bazzoni’s Giallo offering in THE FIFTH CORD (1971). With Franco Nero in the lead, Ennio Morricone scoring, and the cinematographer behind APOCALYPSE NOW, one might think this would be at the top of the Giallo genre. While it looks and sounds good, has all the stylistic elements of the genre, and plenty of kink and violence, the movie simply falls short of superior offerings by the likes of Mario Bava, Dario Argento, and even Lucio Fulci. Alas.
Glad to hear that it is as good as the trailer made it out to be! It was already on my list of must see movies, but I guess it needs to be a bit closer to the top.
