DAY 23 – VIOLET & DAISY
This movie seemingly came out of nowhere. Everything about it is interesting and unique. Both my wife and I swear that this movie feels like a splendid adaptation of a brilliant indie graphic novel. That said, there is no indication the VIOLET & DAISY (2011) is anything other than a starkly creative original work brought to life by Geoffrey Fletcher. Although shot in 2010, the film did not see the light of day for the masses until 2013. This movie boasts a charming new spin on the hitman-with-a-heart-of-gold genre. Our two protagonists are a couple of teenage assassins who are struggling with all the issues cliche to their age and level of maturity. With a fun cameo appearance of Danny Trejo and an absolutely outstanding performance from James Gandolfini (one of his very last), this movie kept my undivided attention from start to finish. See this movie now.
7/10
Glad to hear that it is as good as the trailer made it out to be! It was already on my list of must see movies, but I guess it needs to be a bit closer to the top.
