DAY 22 – UNMASKING THE IDOL

 

My first introduction to the B-grade James Bond knock-off world of Duncan Jax was with the brilliantly-bad ORDER OF THE BLACK EAGLE. Although actually a sequel to UNMASKING THE IDOL (1986), it seems that this first flick flew so under the radar that there was at least a VHS re-release after the schlocky tiny success of ORDER. All I have to say is that this movie has everything. A ninja secret agent, a mad mission, revenge, a badass baboon sidekick, etc. This movie absolutely delivers in every cheesy way. ORDER is only superior because the villains are Nazis. This movie is exactly my flavor…

    Glad to hear that it is as good as the trailer made it out to be! It was already on my list of must see movies, but I guess it needs to be a bit closer to the top.
