DAY 12 – KILL YOUR FRIENDS
Let me begin with saying that I generally enjoyed KILL YOUR FRIENDS (2015). Nicholas Hoult of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD fame was good as the main character narrating his sociopathic desire to climb the corporate record producing ladder. Set in the mid ’90’s, the film had an incredible soundtrack and even feature the brutal murder of a character played by James Corden. All these pieces aside, this movie was really trying too hard to be Mary Harron’s AMERICAN PSYCHO. Although it was adapted from another novel (that I haven’t read), the film featured the same confessional-style of narration from the protagonist. While the movie isn’t bad, I just couldn’t shake the notion that it was a rip-off of the incredible adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ masterpiece.
7/10
Glad to hear that it is as good as the trailer made it out to be! It was already on my list of must see movies, but I guess it needs to be a bit closer to the top.
